Jordan Investment Board (JIB) awards BI a contract for drawing Jordan Investment Map

On November 29th, Dr. Maan Nsour on behalf of JIB, and Mr. Hazem Shaheen on behalf of BI, signed a contract for drawing Jordan's Investment Map. The Jordan Investment Map project was awarded after a bidding process in which several international consulting firms participated, where BI, and in partnership with PA Consulting Group won the bid. It is worth mentioning that PA Consulting Group is one of the leading international management consulting firms in the world, with headquarters in UK and operating worldwide in more than 35 countries.

The Investment Map encompasses conducting a comprehensive countrywide analysis with sectorial market assessment covering national strategic sectors in which Jordan maintains a competitive and comparative advantage covering all regions, especially the underdeveloped areas other than the three magnets: Amman, Aqaba and the Dead Sea.

It will also provide analysis on the various industries covering sectors and regions in Jordan; identifying potential investment projects in each respective sector to be further explored through generating pre-feasibility studies.

This project is considered a strategic national initiative that leverages sector strengths and balances local community, social, economic development and investor interests, where according to JIB, the project will result in high benefits for Jordan, including steering private investment into well conceived projects meeting the marketplace’s needs and taking full advantage of the investment community’s growing interest in regional Middle East investments. It also highlights the importance of the need for a national integrated sector initiative– aimed at recreating successes that have been achieved elsewhere.
